Description
Ivydene is a house dating from the mid to late 17th century, with a later 18th-century extension on the right. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled concrete tile roof with a brick stack at the left end. The original 17th-century part of the house has a two-storey-and-attic structure with a two-window range, characterized by flat stone arches and timber lintels above 20th-century casements, including a blocked doorway. The one-storey, one-window extension to the right also has flat stone arches over a 20th-century door and casements. The rear of the 17th-century section includes flat stone arches and an 18th-century plank door. Inside, the 17th-century range features chamfered and boxed beams, a stop-chamfered bressumer over an open fireplace in the front room, winder stairs next to the stack leading to the attic, a 17th-century plank door on the first floor, and butt-purlin roofs.
