Description

The Laurels is a house formed from two cottages, dating to the 17th century. It is located on the west side of Yarnton Road, Cassington. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with a gabled thatch roof. There are brick stacks to the rear and right end, the latter finished with brick. The house has a double-depth plan, originally consisting of two one-unit cottages. It is one storey high with an attic, featuring a single-window range. A timber lintel sits above the old plank door and a 20th-century casement window. There is a two-light swept dormer casement in the attic. A timber lintel also covers a 20th-century door at the rear. The interior has not been inspected, but is likely to be of interest.
