Description
Stork Cottage is a house located in Cassington, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof, with concrete tiles on the rear. The house has a two-unit plan and is one storey with an attic, presenting a three-window range. A timber lintel and a 18th-century bracketed pediment hood are positioned above the central 20th-century door. The windows are 20th-century casements with timber lintels, and there are three gabled dormers. At the rear, there is a 17th or 18th-century chamfered wood stair-light. The interior includes chamfered and stop-chamfered beams, stone-flag floors, and a chamfered bressumer over an open fireplace with chamfered stone jambs. There is also a 20th-century extension at the rear. The building is shown on the Ordnance Survey map as Kiffissia.
