Description
This barn, located approximately 45 meters west-northwest of Uptown Farmhouse, dates back to the 15th century and has some alterations from the 20th century. The structure features an uncoursed stone rubble plinth, likely 20th-century close-studded timber framing with weatherboarding, and a corrugated metal sheet roof. It consists of a three-bay range, with plank doors on the left side.
Inside, there are two bays on the right constructed using cruck construction. The barn has three sets of cruck trusses: the left truss is a base-cruck with elbowed blades and two collars, with the lower section being arch-braced; the center truss is a full cruck truss with elbowed blades, a collar, and a saddle; and the right truss is a base-cruck with two collars and a 20th-century apex. Additionally, there are two rows of wind braces.
