SUTTON COURTENAY HIGH STREET SU4993 (West side) 8/132 Barn approx. 45m WNW of No,96 (Uptown Farmhouse)

Barn. C15, with C20 alterations. Uncoursed stone rubble plinth; probably C20 close-studded timber-framing with waatherboarding; corrugated metal sheet roof. 3-bay range, Plank doors to left. Interior: 2 bays to right of cruck construction. 3 sets of cruck trusses. The left cruck truss is a base-cruck with elbowed blades, and 2 collars, the lower arch-braced. The centre cruck truss is a full cruck truss with elbowed blades, a collar, and a saddle. The right cruck truss is a base-cruck with 2 collars and a C20 apex. There are 2 rows of wind braces.
