Description
Sutton Mill is a water mill dated 1773, located on Sutton Courtenay Hill Lane. The mill features brick construction at the ground floor on the right side, with weatherboarding on timber framing at the first floor, and has an old plain-tile roof. It is two storeys high with an attic and consists of a three-bay range. The main front faces south and includes a two-light casement window on the ground floor to the right, a nine-pane window on the ground floor to the left, and a sixteen-pane window on the first floor to the left. There is also a stable door on the right return. Inside, most of the machinery is still intact, including an overshot metal wheel on the ground floor to the left, two sets of millstones with wooden hoppers and bins, and leather-hinged hoist doors on each floor.
