Description
Numbers 1 and 2, known as Dairy Cottages, are a pair of houses located approximately 250 meters west of Little Baldon Farmhouse. They date from the mid-18th century and are constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings, topped with an old plain-tile roof featuring brick gable stacks. The cottages have a double-depth plan and rise two storeys plus attics.
The front facade is symmetrical with three windows, showcasing a combination of banded rubble and ashlar. It features a central doorway beneath a 2-light casement window, flanked by 3-light casements in the outer bays, which have segmental arches at the ground floor. The rear of the building is also symmetrical, highlighted by a central stair window. The double-span roof includes two gabled roof dormers at the front and one at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
