Description
48 The Green is a house located in Marsh Baldon, dating from the early 18th century, with possible earlier elements and a 19th-century extension. The building is constructed of colourwashed limestone rubble, featuring some timber framing and brick, topped with a thatch roof and brick stacks. It has an L-plan layout and consists of one storey plus an attic.
The front façade includes a plank door situated to the right of centre, with two 2-light casement windows to the left and another in the 19th-century brick extension to the right, all featuring segmental arches. There are also 2-light dormers with swept eaves above the doorway and the left window. The right gable displays some timber framing, while the left gable wall features a large stepped brick stack with a thatched projection in front, along with a low thatched link to No. 47 on the left, which connects to the rear wing. The roof is half-hipped on the left side and at the rear of the wing. The interior has not been inspected.
