Description
Gateways is a house dating from the 17th to early 18th century. It is constructed of colourwashed limestone rubble, brick, and timber framing, topped with an old plain-tile roof featuring brick stacks. The building has a three-unit plan and is one storey plus attics. The front has three windows, with two-light casements in the centre and to the left, and a three-light leaded casement to the right. There are three gabled dormers with 19th-century ornamental bargeboards. The centre bay is timber-framed, with some herringbone brick infill and a small blocked window under the eaves. To the right of centre, there is a blocked segmental-arched doorway that has been converted into a window. A large brick chimney projects from the right gable wall. The roof is half-hipped to the left and has an additional stack to the left of centre. The interior has not been inspected.
