Description
Home Farmhouse and the attached barn is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. The structure dates from the early 17th century on the right side and the early 18th century overall. The right side features a rendered base, large timber-framing, brick infill, a red brick base, and grey brick with red brick dressings. It has an old plain-tile hipped roof with brick ridge stacks on the left and right. The building has a three-unit plan, is two storeys high with an attic, and has a four-window range. The central entrance features a four-panel door with an overlight and a flat hood above. To the left, there are two segmental-headed cross-windows with segmental brick heads, and to the right of the centre, there is another segmental-headed cross-window with a segmental brick head, along with a two-light wood casement. The first floor has four cross-windows. Inside, there is likely a queen-post roof truss on the right. The eaves are shaped in brick, and there are three gabled full dormers with two-light casements. The rear of the building has large timber-framing. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is expected to be of interest. The attached barn at the rear left features large timber-framing with some panels filled with wattle and daub, along with 20th-century brickwork. The portion of the building facing the road may have originally been a house.
