Description
The Old Forge is a house dating from the mid-17th century, located on Paper Mill Lane in South Moreton. The building features a painted brick and flint base with large timber framing and rendered infill, topped by a thatched roof that is half-hipped to the left. It has a two-unit plan and is a two-storey, two-bay range positioned at right angles to the street. A 20th-century plank door is situated to the right, with two 2-light casements on the ground floor. On the first floor to the right, there is a 2-light wooden casement. The left side of the building facing the road includes a 2-light wooden casement in the centre of the ground floor, a jettied first floor, and a 2-light wooden casement in the centre of the first floor. The gable end features a queen-post roof truss with a single-light casement. The interior has not been inspected.
