Description
Numbers 1 and 2, along with an attached low barn, are two dwellings located on Mill Lane in South Moreton. The buildings date from the 17th century, with a late 17th-century cross-wing on the right side. The structure features a knapped flint base, red brick walls, and an old plain-tile roof with a central brick ridge stack. It is a single storey with an attic, presenting a four-window range and a two-storey cross-wing that is positioned at right angles to the street. There are 20th-century doors on either side of the center, and the windows are mainly 20th-century casements with irregular placement. A flat brick band runs between the ground and first floors of the cross-wing on the right. The building has four gabled dormers with casements. The rear of the structure showcases large timber-framing with angle-bracing on the left, rendered infill, a flint panelled base on the right, and red brick also on the right side. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest. To the left, there is an attached low barn that is timber-framed.
