Description
Mill House is a building that has been converted into a house, originally constructed in the mid-17th century with alterations made in the early 18th century and further changes in the 20th century. The structure features a red brick base with large timber-framing in the center and right sections, brick infill, and additional brickwork on the left. It has an old plain-tile roof and massive brick lateral stacks to the left and right of the center. The house is two stories tall with an attic and has a three-bay range that is positioned at right angles to the street.
The entrance features a central two-panel door topped with a flat hood supported by shaped brackets. There are single-light windows to the left and right of the entrance, along with a single-light wood casement window on the right side. A flat brick band runs between the ground and first floors on the left. The first floor has a two-light wood casement window in the center. The right return displays irregular fenestration with 19th-century sash windows, except for a two-light leaded casement window in the gable end, which features a double Queen-post roof truss.
On the left return, there are 12-pane horned sash windows on both the ground and first floors, which are topped with cambered arches. A flat brick band separates the ground and first floors, as well as the first floor and attic. There is a two-light casement window in the gable end. An early 18th-century dog-leg staircase with landings connects the ground floor to the attic and features turned balusters.
