Description
Garden Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, with its roof likely raised in the mid-18th century. The building features a painted brick base and ground floor on the right, with large timber-framing and brick infill, including some rendered panels. It has an old plain-tile roof that is hipped to the right, with a brick ridge stack on the right and an end stack on the left. The house has a three-unit plan and is two stories tall, presenting a three-window range that is set at right angles to the street.
A 20th-century glazed door with a gabled hood is located to the left of the center, accompanied by a three-light wood casement window to the left. There are two two-light wood casements to the right, and on the first floor, there are two-light casements except for two single-light casements on the right. On the right return, there is a three-light wood casement on the ground floor and two single-light casements in the center of the first floor. The rear of the building displays large timber-framing with angle braces. The interior has not been inspected.
