Description

Wheatleys is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations from the 18th century and a cross-wing at the rear. It is constructed of flint with brick dressings at the base, featuring large timber-framing and brick infill. The roof is made of old plain tiles and is hipped to the right, with brick ridge stacks located at the center. The layout is likely a two-unit lobby-entry plan. The house is single-storey with an attic and has a two-window range that is positioned at right angles to the street. There is a plank door at the center and irregularly placed wood casement windows. The building also features two gabled dormers and a queen-post roof truss at the gable end of the left return facing the road. The interior has not been inspected.
