Description

Numbers 1 and 2 Sydenham is a house that has been divided into two dwellings. The structure dates from the 17th century on the left side and the 18th century on the right side. It features coursed stone rubble with brick dressings on the ground floor, while the left side has large timber framing with brick infill on the first floor, and the right side has coursed stone rubble with brick dressings on the first floor. The roof is covered with old plain tiles, sloping lower on the left side, with a half-hipped end to the left and a hipped end to the right. There are brick lateral stacks at the rear. The building is two stories high and has a four-window range that is positioned at right angles to the road. A plank door is located to the left of the center. On the ground floor to the left, there are two 20th-century two-light casements, and to the right, there is a two-light casement with a segmental brick head. A flat brick band runs between the ground and first floors on the right side. The first floor has two-light casements, except for a single-light casement to the right of the center. The interiors have not been inspected.
