Description

Forge Cottage, Barn End Cottage, and The Barn comprise a 17th-century house with a 19th-century addition, now divided into three dwellings. The house is timber framed with painted brick infill, with roughcast on brick to the left; it has a thatched roof, with old plain tiles to the left, and brick ridge stacks to the left and right of the centre, along with a 19th-century end stack to the left. It is a single-storey building with an attic, featuring a 4-window front, alongside a 2-storey, single-window addition to the left. A 20th-century plank door sits to the left of the centre, with further 20th-century plank doors positioned centrally and to the right of the centre. The windows are generally irregular, mostly consisting of 2-light casements. Four swept dormers are present. The interiors have not been inspected. Attached to the right is a barn, now converted into a house, featuring a 20th-century brick plinth, weatherboarding (likely on brick), and a thatched roof, half-hipped to the right. This barn is of single-storey and attic height, with a single-window range, and has a carriageway to the left and a 20th-century casement window to the right.
