Description
18 and 19 Friday Street is a house that has been divided into two dwellings. It dates from the late 17th century or 18th century and features a timber frame with painted brick infill. The roof is half-hipped and covered with old tiles, and there are brick stacks at the ends. The building has a three-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic, presenting a three-window range on the front.
There are two entrances, each with plank doors set in wooden frames. The front includes three 3-light casement windows, while the attic features a pair of small-paned windows and a large gabled dormer with a 4-light casement window from the 20th century. The left end of the building has been rebuilt in brick, and there is a single-storey extension on the left with a 20th-century door and casement window. The right side has timber framing set on a high brick plinth, with two windows on the first floor and a single-storey rear wing that includes an end stack and a stone addition. The interior has not been inspected.
