Description

14, 15, and 16 Lower Quinton are three cottages that have been combined into one dwelling. They date from the 17th century and early 18th century. The building features a timber frame with painted brick infill on a rubble plinth, with coursed rubble on the right side. Part of the structure has a brick first floor, while the right end has a dressed stone first floor. The roof is half-hipped and thatched, with a brick axial stack at the rear of the ridge and a cross-axial stack at the front.

The exterior is a single storey plus an attic and has a three-window range. The left of the centre section shows square framing, and there is a wall post with a brace indicating that this section was originally timber-framed. The entrance is located to the left of the centre and features a timber lintel over a plank door. There are two windows on the left end, one window in the centre, and three windows on the right end, all under timber lintels and fitted with renewed two-light small-paned casements. A small light is positioned to the right of the centre. The roof includes three eyebrow dormers, one timber-framed and two brick, with two-light and three-light small-paned casements. The left return is timber-framed and has two casement windows on each floor. There is an entrance at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
