Description
Balscott Mill is an 18th-century mill that features a 19th-century roof, which was added after a fire. The building is constructed from squared, coursed ironstone and has a slate roof. It has a dentilled brick eaves cornice and stands two storeys high with a raised roof, presenting a three-window range. The windows are from the 20th century and have wooden lintels. There are renewed doors on the right end and on the first floor, both also featuring wooden lintels. Inside, the mill has an overshot water wheel with its machinery intact and in place. Equipment and machinery from the 18th and 19th centuries are reported to survive intact on the first floor.
