Description
Whitelands is a house located on Malthouse Lane in Shutford, dating from the late 17th century, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed of squared coursed ironstone and ashlar, topped with a steeply pitched thatched roof. The building features renewed stone and brick ridge and end stacks.
The left part of the house has a one-unit plan and is two storeys high with a single-window range. The entrance is located in a 20th-century extension on the left side. Both the ground and first floors have three-light stone mullioned windows, each with hood moulds and label stops.
The right part of the house is two storeys plus an attic, with a three-window range. The centre features a panelled door flanked by sash windows, with three similar windows on the first floor. Keyblock stone heads are present above the windows, and there are two eyebrow dormers. The interior has not been inspected.
