Description
No. 5 Ivy Lane is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of regular coursed ironstone rubble and features a steeply pitched roof covered with 20th-century tiles. The cottage has a renewed brick stack at one end and is positioned end-on to the lane. It has a two-unit plan and is a single storey plus attic. The main elevation has an entrance on the right, which includes a wide plank door set in a moulded wood frame with a stone flat arch above. To the left of the entrance, there are two tall 20th-century windows in their original openings, also topped with stone flat arches. A 20th-century gabled half-dormer is present, and the building has ironstone quoins. The interior has not been inspected.
