Description
Balscott Mill House is a mill house with origins in the 17th century, featuring later additions and alterations. It consists of two buildings made from coursed ironstone rubble and squared coursed ironstone, topped with Welsh slate roofs and brick ridge and end stacks. The structure forms a large range with two 2-unit parts, the lower and earlier part located on the left. The overall design includes a four-window range. The left part is said to have been partly rebuilt after a fire and contains two stable doors with wood lintels, along with sash windows and three-light metal casements, also with wood lintels. The right part dates from the 18th or 19th century and has two entrances with plank doors and wood lintels. Both the ground and first floors feature two three-light casements, again with wood lintels.
