Description
Tally Ho Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with remodelling in the 18th century. It is constructed of regularly coursed ironstone rubble and features a steeply pitched 20th-century tile roof. The building has two brick stacks located to the left and along the ridge. The layout consists of a two-unit plan, with a single storey plus an attic and a two-window range.
To the left, there is a single-storey extension that has a Welsh slate roof and a brick stack. The entrance is located in the left part of the house, featuring a plain door with a wooden lintel and a sloping 20th-century hood. There is a blocked entrance to the right with a wooden lintel. To the right of the entrance, a three-light stone mullioned window is present, complete with a hood mould and label stops, alongside a 20th-century window with a wooden lintel. The attic contains two three-light metal casements that have original lintels, and all windows are fitted with wrought iron casement fasteners.
Inside, the cottage features a stop-chamfered beam and a complete set of joists, as well as a straight flight stair.
