Description

The Homestead is an 18th-century house located on The Green in Barford St. John and St. Michael. It is constructed of regular coursed ironstone rubble, with a Welsh slate roof and three brick stacks situated to the right and along the ridge. The house has a three-unit plan and a single storey with an attic. The front elevation has a three-window range. A panelled door, positioned off-centre to the right, has a wooden lintel and is flanked by a two-light casement window also with a wooden lintel. A circular bread oven projection, roofed with slate, is visible to the left of the door. A blocked doorway is located to the left of the bread oven. The attic has three two-light casement windows, each with a wooden lintel. At the rear, a tall rectangular wooden casement window is distinguished by lead cames.
