Description
Brook House and the house to the left are two cottages from the 18th century, built from regularly coursed ironstone rubble. They feature a steeply pitched thatched roof with three brick stacks located at the ends and along the ridge. The cottages have a three-unit plan and are single storey plus an attic, with a three-window range.
The plank door on the left has a glazed panel, a moulded wooden frame, and a wooden lintel. To the left of this door is a sash window with stone surrounds. The plank door on the right has plain wood surrounds and a chamfered wooden lintel, and it is flanked by a three-light wooden casement window on the left with an original wooden lintel and a two-light wooden casement window on the right with a keystoned stone surround. In the attic, there are three two-light wooden casements that feature lead cames, wrought iron casement fasteners, and stop-chamfered wooden lintels. The interior has not been inspected.
