Description
No. 2 Church Street is a 17th-century house constructed from regularly coursed ironstone rubble. It features a steeply pitched Welsh slate roof with stone coping on the left and a brick stack on the right. The house has a two-unit plan and is a single storey plus attic, with a two-window range.
The doorway on the right is framed by a moulded stone architrave, with jambs and a hood that includes label stops. It has a plank door. To the left, there is a two- and three-light stone mullioned window, also with hood moulds and label stops; the window on the left shows fragmentary remains of a hood mould. Wrought iron casement fasteners are present. The attic features a two-light casement window with a wooden lintel and another two-light stone mullioned window. Inside, there is a stop-chamfered beam.
