Perkins

Perkins is a house located on Tadmarton Hollow Road in Lower Tadmarton, dating from the 17th century with an extension from the 18th or early 19th century. The building is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble and features a stone slate roof laid in diminishing courses. It has three brick stacks, two of which have stone bases, positioned at the ends and on the ridge. The house has a two-unit plan with a single-unit extension on the right side, and it is a single storey plus attic. The entrance is located in the extension, which also has two windows with diagonal leaded lights and a simple attic window with brick dressings. A thatched stone bread oven projection is situated at the left end of the house. Inside, the kitchen and hall feature stop-chamfered beams and chamfered bresumers above the fireplaces. There is a cellar located under the hall.
