Description

Stoneacre is a house located on High Street in Blisworth, dating from the early to mid-17th century, with an extension from the 18th century. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble, banded with ironstone, and features a thatched roof with brick ridge and end stacks. It has a two-unit plan, stands two storeys tall with an attic, and has a four-window range.

The entrance is a 20th-century door to the right, set within a 20th-century porch with a wooden lintel. The ground, first, and attic floors have three-light avolo moulded stone mullion windows, all of which are adorned with hood moulds. There are small one-light leaded staircase windows at the centre of the ground and first floors, and an attic window in an eyebrow dormer. The building has quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers.

The left gable end facing the street features three-light stone mullion windows on both the ground and first floors, as well as a similar two-light attic window. To the right, there is a two-storey, one-window extension, likely from the mid-18th century, which includes a three-light leaded casement window on the ground floor, a leaded fire window, and a two-light leaded casement on the first floor, all with wooden lintels. A two-light chamfered stone mullion cellar window is located to the left of centre, and there is a chamfered plinth at the gable end.

Inside, the house features ogee stop-chamfered spine beams and some original ogee stop-chamfered joists. There is a stone fireplace with moulded jambs and a straight head, as well as a similar corner fireplace upstairs. The interior also includes a winder stair, a collar truss roof, and a stone cellar.
