Description

The dovecote, located approximately 200 meters southwest of Wroxton College, is a Grade II* listed structure built in 1745 and restored in the 20th century. It was designed by Sanderson Miller, who also landscaped the surrounding park during that period. The dovecote is constructed from ironstone ashlar and features a renewed crenellated parapet from the 20th century. It has a polygonal plan and consists of two stages in a Gothic style. The entrance includes a two-centred arched doorway with a plank door, and there are loop windows, some of which are blocked. A decorative weather-vane of banner type is also present. The interior has not been inspected.
