Description
The Old Bakehouse is a house dating from the late 17th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble and features a steeply pitched thatched roof with brick end stacks. The building is designed in an L-plan and has two storeys plus an attic, with a three-window range. The gable end faces the lane, and this elevation includes a renewed attic window with a pointed wood lintel and remnants of a bread oven projection. The left side elevation has an entrance with a 20th-century door beneath a thatched hood, and it features mostly renewed single- and two-light wood casements with original chamfered wood lintels. The wing has a 20th-century flat roof and a renewed brick stack. The interior has not been inspected.
