Description

The Cottage is a house dating to the 17th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble, including some burned stones. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with 20th-century imitation stone slates laid to diminishing courses. Brick end stacks are present, one featuring a brick shaft on a rendered and chamfered stone base. The building has a three-unit plan and two storeys, with a three-window front. The off-centre entrance to the left has a plank door set within a moulded wood frame and wood lintel, and is sheltered by a 20th-century porch. This entrance is flanked by three-light metal casements in wood frames with wood lintels. A wider light window is on the right. The first floor has three three-light metal casements in wood frames, fitted with wrought-iron casement fasteners and wood lintels. The interior has not been inspected.
