Description

Two houses, originally one building, with origins in the 17th century, refaced in the 18th century and subject to later alterations. The houses are constructed of squared, coursed ironstone. The Nutshell, on the left, has a 20th-century tile roof, while Glasfryn has a corrugated asbestos roof. Brick ridge stacks rise from the roof. The building follows a three-unit plan. There is a three-window front elevation. Two entrances, one on the left and one on the right, have 20th-century doors. The ground floor windows are 3-light casements and a two-light casement, all from the 20th century, with stone flat arches and keyblock heads. A continuous flat band with keyblocks runs above the ground-floor windows. The first floor has three 3-light metal casements in wood frames, with either wooden lintels or stone flat arches above. The Nutshell has a large 20th-century roof dormer, and the coped gables have been repaired or renewed with concrete. The interiors were not inspected.
