Description

Knapp House is a house dating back to the 17th century, with alterations and additions from the 18th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of squared, coursed ironstone, with stone-coped gables. The left end has a rendered stack, and the right end has a brick stack. The house has a two-unit plan, two storeys plus an attic, and a two-window front. The right-hand entrance features a three-centred doorway with a moulded architrave surround, containing a six-panelled door with two glazed lights. A wide 20-pane sash window is on the left, and a 20th-century three-light casement on the right. The first floor has a sash in a wooden frame, with a wooden lintel. The roof has two 20th-century dormers. The house forms part of a prominent group of houses on the north side of the Village Green. The interior has not been inspected.
