Description
No. 72 London Road is an elegant early 19th-century villa that stands three storeys high with a semi-basement. The front area is faced with painted wood, designed to imitate masonry. It features a hipped slate roof and an eaves cornice. The villa has three sash windows, most of which retain their glazing bars. On the first floor, there is a wooden balcony with a hood and a trellised canopy. Below the balcony, a porch with fluted columns is accessed by six steps with a handrail. The porch includes a segmental fanlight, although the door is modern. Nos. 69 to 73 London Road, which are consecutive, form a group with this villa.
