Description
70 and 71 London Road are a pair of early 19th-century houses. They are three storeys tall with a semi-basement and an area, and they are finished in stucco. The buildings feature a parapet and cornice, with an additional cornice above the first floor and a string course above the ground floor. Each house has two windows, with a curved bay containing one window on the outer side. The glazing bars are intact on No 71. There are recessed porches with pilasters, which are accessed by curved flights of steps that include a handrail and a platform, all fronted by an iron railing. The doorcases have rectangular fanlights. The side elevation is made of brick. Nos 69 to 73, which are consecutive, form a group with these houses.
