Description
No 68 on London Road is an 18th-century house that includes No 47 Church Road, which was originally a factory and shop for Tunbridge Wells ware. A print shows Princess Victoria riding by on a donkey during her childhood visit to Tunbridge Wells. The building has three storeys, with the ground floor finished in stucco and the upper floors tile hung. It features a hipped slate roof. There are two sash windows facing London Road and five sash windows facing Church Road, all with intact glazing bars. The first floor projects on four wooden Tuscan columns, with a dentilled cornice beneath the overhang. The plain doorcase on London Road has a rectangular fanlight and a six-panel door. The doorcase for No 47 Church Road includes pilasters, an open pediment, and a semi-circular fanlight. No 68 forms a group with Nos 31 to 47 (odd) Church Road.
