Description

Nos 20 and 22 on Church Road are a pair of houses built around 1840. They are three storeys tall with a semi-basement and are finished in stucco. The buildings feature an eaves cornice and a stringcourse. Between the ground and first floors, there is a balcony with a hood supported by slender fluted Tuscan columns, which are decorated with anthemion and Vitruvian scroll motifs. The balcony is made of cast iron and is accessed by seven steps leading to the street. These houses are part of a group that includes Nos 16 to 30 (even).
