Description
27 and 29 Cavendish Street are two houses built around 1840. They are constructed from stock brick with rendered details and have artificial tiled roofs. The buildings are two storeys tall with a basement, featuring a plinth, rusticated quoins, and a moulded cornice parapet. There are stacks located to the left and at the rear. The front has a regular arrangement of windows, with three sash windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor, all set in moulded segmentally headed surrounds that include keystones and brackets under the sills. The basement has glazing bar sashes on both sides. The central entrance features a half-glazed door in a recessed porch, topped by a rectangular fanlight and surrounded by a rendered outer frame with a cornice supported by enriched brackets. A flight of four steps leads up to the door, with flush footscrapers on either side. At the rear, there is a catslide outshot.
