Description
Cavendish Villas, now used as offices, is a pair of houses built around 1840. The buildings are rendered and feature a plain tiled roof. They have a double range plan and consist of two storeys plus a basement. Notable architectural details include a moulded cornice parapet and chimney stacks located to the left, centre right, and right.
On the first floor, there are four glazing bar sash windows, each with cornices supported by brackets and rendered moulded balconies. The ground floor also has four double hung sash windows, similarly adorned with cornices and balconies. The basement features four glazing bar sashes set in a large area, surrounded by fleur-de-lys headed rails and urn finial principals.
On the left side, there is a door with four panels and a rectangular fanlight, which is flanked by sidelights and topped with a cornice supported by moulded consoles. A small sash window with a Gothick pattern iron balconette is located above. The right side has an original doorway with a cornice and sidelights, but this is partially obscured by a 20th-century porch and a passage that connects to No. 21.
