Description
1 and 3 Victoria Street are a pair of houses built around 1800. They are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature a hipped pantile roof. The buildings have a plinth, bands at the first and second floors, and moulded wooden eaves. There are two ridge stacks and two side wall stacks. The windows are glazing bar sashes with rubbed brick heads, arranged in a five-window range across three storeys in a U-plan layout.
The central window is flanked by single fluted doorcases topped with open pediments on scroll brackets that include lion masks. The doors are moulded six-panel types with Gothic glazing bar overlights and round-headed scrapers. To the left side facing Clinton Street, the ground and first-floor windows have segmental heads, and there is a regular arrangement of windows of various types. The left side also features a door. Inside, the entrance halls boast elaborate plasterwork ceilings.
