Description

A pair of houses, dating from around 1840, located on Victoria Street in Newark on Trent. The buildings are constructed of brick with stone dressings, and have slate and concrete tile roofs. Features include a plinth, bands marking the first and second floors, and pedimented gables. Single ridge and gable stacks are present. The windows have segmental heads with keystoned lintels. The fenestration consists of a 5-window range on the upper floors, with a mix of plain sashes (20th and 19th century), and dummy glazing bar sashes. The ground floor has a central, round-headed entry with a beaded panelled door, flanked by plain sashes. To the left, a 20th-century glazed door is present, and to the right, a pilastered wooden doorcase with a cornice and a fielded panelled door with glazed upper panels. Both doors have overlights.
