Description
23 and 25 Portland Street are two houses that have been converted into a shop and a flat. They were built in the early 19th century and have undergone some alterations in the mid-20th century. The buildings are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature a slate roof. They have three storeys with a first-floor band, a single gable, and two ridge stacks. The front has a three-window range of glazing bar sashes, with the central window being a dummy. Above this, there is similar fenestration with smaller windows. On the ground floor, there is a mid-20th-century full-width terrazzo shopfront that includes two doors flanked by single windows. The buildings are included for their group value.
