Description

This is a terrace row of ten houses built between 1827 and 1836. The houses are constructed of stock brick with a slate roof and have three storeys and a basement. They are topped with a parapet and have chimney stacks arranged from left to right. There are ten window bays in total. The second floor has small square windows with glazing bars and arched heads, although some have been replaced. Numbers 31, 32, and 33 have replacements with three-light casements. The first floor has windows with glazing bars, and there are two tripartite bow windows to the left (numbers 24 and 25). The ground floor has eight canted bays with projecting cornices. The entrances on the right side of the bows and bays consist of panelled and half-glazed doors with semi-circular fanlights in gauged surrounds, each with two steps leading up to them. Number 24 has a plank and stud door with fluted columned jambs in the canted corner section, above which is a blocked round-headed and gauged window space. The doorway to the right of the first bow is also blocked. The basements have a variety of openings and railings. The left return side features flintwork to the ground floor, with lancet windows on each floor, mirroring the fenestration and materials of Grace Cottage opposite. The estate was known as Liverpool Place until the entire area was renamed Liverpool Lawn in 1867.
