20, 21 AND 22, LIVERPOOL LAWN

This is a terrace of three houses built between 1827 and 1836. The buildings are constructed of stucco with a slate roof and are two storeys high with a basement. A continuous cill band runs along the front, topped by a moulded cornice and parapet above a hipped roof, with chimney stacks positioned centrally to the left and centre, and to the right end. Number 20 is positioned facing the left return (west) and has been re-faced. Numbers 21 and 22 face south, each with three bays separated by a blank window space. The left bay of Number 21 is partially obscured by later stucco work. The first floor has seven glazing bar sashes and two blank window spaces. The ground floor features five shallow, bowed windows, with the left-hand one being rusticated, while the others have fielded panelled aprons. The main entrances are located centrally to the left and right, consisting of six-panel doors with semi-circular fanlights in moulded surrounds, each with two steps leading up to them. Basement openings are located below the bowed windows.

The left return has a rusticated ground floor that extends to the main elevation. The first floor has three glazing bar sashes, while the ground floor has two sashes. A basement opening is present on the right. The central return features a six-panel door with a semi-circular fanlight and projecting surround, also with three steps. The rear elevation has been altered, but displays underlying flint and brick walling. According to Busson's "Ramsgate," page 109, the buildings showcase interesting original materials.
