Description
No. 14 Addington Street is a house and shop built between 1801 and 1821, with alterations made in the early 20th century. The building is constructed of stock brick and has a slate roof. It stands three storeys high, featuring a parapet and a stack on the right side. The second floor has a blank window space and a wooden casement, both with cambered heads. The first floor includes a blank window space with a cambered head and a canted bay on the right that has glazing bar sashes. The ground floor has 20th-century plate glass shop bays set on a brick base, with a central half-glazed door and a recessed half-glazed door to the left, which is topped by a rectangular fanlight. This building is shown on Collard & Hurst's 1821 plan and is included for its group value.
