Description
No. 20 Addington Street is a house, originally incorporating a shop, dating to 1801-1802. It is constructed of stock brick and has two storeys and a parapet, with a stack located on the left side. The building's original regular fenestration has been altered. The first floor contains three glazing bar sashes with gauged heads. To the right is a canted bay with glazing bar sashes, and to the left a large shop front bay with large sashes. A recessed half-glazed door is set within an arched, Oriental-style frame. A central half-glazed door is contained within a gauged, round-headed surround. The building is marked on Collard and Hurst’s plan of Ramsgate from 1821.
