Description

No. 8 Bailgate is a house that now functions as a house and shop. It was built in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the early 20th century. The building is constructed of brick that has been colourwashed, featuring a hipped plain tile roof and a side wall stack. There is a wooden band at the first floor level. The structure has four storeys and consists of a single bay. The shopfront includes a recessed half-glazed door with an overlight on the right, and a shop window to the left, all beneath a plain fascia. Above this, there is a central plain sash window, followed by a single glazing bar sash window with a segmental head, and above that, a smaller glazing bar sash window. The interior has not been inspected.
