Description

This is a house, dating from the early to mid-18th century, which has been adapted for use as an ice cream parlour and office. It incorporates a 13th-century vaulted cellar and has a late 19th-century shopfront, with conversion work undertaken around 1990. The building is constructed of stone, colourwashed, with terracotta dressings, a plain tile roof, brick coped gables, kneelers, and a gable stack.

The architectural style features a rusticated ground floor and a moulded band to the first floor, with corner pilasters extending upwards. It is two storeys high plus attics, with a single bay. The central round-headed window on the ground floor has three lights, flanked by recessed panelled doors with overlights featuring decorative pediments on brackets. Above, a square bay window with three plain sashes is centrally positioned. Further above, a segment-headed dormer contains a two-light sliding sash window.

The interior includes a single bay cross vault in the cellar, featuring chamfered boss and ribs. The ground floor shop has a plaster ceiling with a wreathed oval central panel.
