Description
6 and 7 Castle Hill are two houses that have been converted into offices. They were built in the early 18th century and are made of brick with stone dressings, topped with a plain tile roof featuring two gable stacks and a single ridge stack. The building has a plinth, chamfered and rusticated quoins, first and second floor bands, an eaves band, and a coped parapet with five baluster panels. It stands three storeys tall, plus attics, and has five bays. The windows are segment-headed glazing bar sashes with brick heads and keystones. The symmetrical front has a central sash flanked by single stone doorcases with segmental pediments on brackets. The doors have six fielded panels, with the top two panels being glazed. Beyond the doors are single sashes, and above them are five windows on each floor, with three 20th-century hipped dormers above. The interiors feature paired arcaded full-height pine panelling and fireplaces with pilasters.
