Description
The railings and gate located about 10 metres north of Ramsgate Library were designed in 1904 by S.D. Adshead. They are made of cast and wrought iron and are set on a red brick low wall that stands approximately 1 to 2 feet high. The railings rise to about 6 feet and feature a frieze of ring shapes. The rail ramps up from the left to the gateway, which is flanked by simple piers topped with urn finials. These piers support an overthrow that tapers towards the centre and originally held a lamp, which is now missing. The double gates are ramped and consist of simple uprights. Overall, the railings and gate stretch about 50 metres in length.
